"Downy Woodpecker, Male"

This downy woodpecker couple did not start off on the right wing for their first date night. While she was spraying on her most expensive perfume, he was dusting off his feathers. 

She expected air conditioning and a bed of roses, but he came with a bundle of wildflowers and dinner plans to the local fast-food fly-thru recommended by the finches.

While it took some coaxing to hear each other's side of the story, they have learned to be better communicators. She promises to be more patient and grateful, and he promises to be more considerate and understanding.

They both agree to never listen to the finches ever again.
